McNichols Arena, also known as "Big Mac", was the home of the Denver Nuggets (NBA) and Colorado Rockies (NHL), among others. It was named for a Denver mayor back when facilities were named after statesmen and soldiers instead of soft drinks and investment firms. Big Mac was originally built for the 1976 Winter Olympics, which is really odd because they were held in Montreal. It was torn down after less than 30 years and replaced with an upgraded (read: more luxury boxes) facility. This is about halfway through the demolition process, so what you see is a half-eaten Big Mac.
